Q & A

What’s a church and how to decide the right followers of Jesus Christ? More
As there are some thousands and thousands of churches around the world, every church claims that what they do is right and often blaming the other. Is there any way to find out a true church based on Bible?Based on scriptures, all the churches are preaching the word of God. I have attended many prayer meetings, but one church doesn’t accept the other one is right. One Christian doesn’t accept the other one is a true Christian? Then how can a non-Christian begin to follow Bible and Jesus Christ? Since I belong to a Hindu religion, we never have such partialities among devotees. Anyone can go to any temple and pray the God according to his own will and wish. Particularly in India, every year there are so many people converted from their religion to Christianity. For quite sometime, they are lead in to prayers and Bible reading. But gradually, they are not being taken care of by the Church elders resulting the converts are returning to their sinful way of life. Whats the solution?
There are many divisions among Christians. The Bible teaches we should have unity. (John 17: 20-21) The many divisions are a sign of confusion. “God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.” (1 Corinthians 14:33)The Bible says that Christians should “all speak the same thing” and have “no divisions” (1 Corinthians 1:10). Divisiveness is a “work of the flesh”, and not a “fruit of the Spirit”. (Galatians 5:19-23)The many denominations (divisions) should not exist! So why are there so many? Men are not satisfied to follow only the Bible. The Bible should be used for our doctrine, to instruct, to reprove, and to correct error (2 Timothy 3:16-17).Instead men look for teachers who say what they desire to hear. Notice 2 Timothy 4:2-4, “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”Christians need to leave behind the doctrines of men and return to preaching the Word! We need to speak where the Bible speaks, be silent where the Bible is silent, do Bible things in Bible ways, and call Bible things by Bible names. When we do that, we will all be speaking the same thing! How do you know which church is true? Listen carefully, receive the things taught eagerly, and search the Scriptures to see if it is true! If it is true in light of the Scriptures, accept it! If a doctrine is not Biblical, reject it! Demand a Bible answer to all Bible questions! Do not settle for opinions of men.Notice Acts 17:11, “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”There is a church that strives to restore this type of unity. We just want to be Christians without joining any denomination! We just want to be the type of Christians you can read about in Acts 2. They all heard the same message, about 3000 understood it the same way, believed it the same way, and obeyed it the same way. These 3000 became Christians, nothing more, nothing less, nothing else; and they continued together in unity, in fellowship, and in the same doctrine. They belonged to no denomination. If we read and understand what they understood, believe only what they believed, and do what they did, we will become only what they became, Christians – nothing more, nothing less, nothing else.If you wish to know more about those today who want to be Christians only, I invite you to e-mail me or to check out the links below.

I think it would be better if you used GI Kung Fu Rambo Christ.
What are you looking for from Christ and His church? More
I attend a church that is very concerned with relevancy. We don’t want to waste our time (or other people’s time) doing and saying things that people who aren’t yet Christ followers won’t listen to or learn from. But I often find myself sitting around asking other Christ followers what they think people want/need. That seems like a meaningless forum for this discussion! If you are not a Christ follower, what is it that speaks to you? What about Christ is a mystery to you? What concerns you about life as a Christ follower? If you are a Christian, do you know other ways to get my answer? Are there any great sites or groups that can help?
Do you believe you can still be a faithful and dedicated follower of Christ if you stopped going to church? More
for the record, I certainly believe that(((Michelle)))Misty - please elaborate as to why
Going to the Church and faith in Christ are two different concepts altogether.
