People say they won’t vote for Romney BECAUSE he’s a Mormon. Harry Reid is a Mormon but there’s not a peep about mistrusting him about religion.Is this a double standard?I know Reid isn’t running for President but as Senate Majority leader, he has power.Insulting remarks about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are not part of this question and are insulting!

The media (and other candidates) will exploit anything they feel will influence a candidate’s way of thinking (and add a negative spin to it) because it could effect their political decisions. Romney denies this would happen, but I would ask, how can you be dedicated to your faith and not let that dedication influence your decision making? It’s not possible in my opinion.The same thing happened to JFK because he was a dedicated Catholic. It’s not so much what the faith is (Mormon, Catholic, Baptist, whatever), people are afraid of how big of a part his religious convictions could play in his politics.People that like Romney will vote for him and those that don’t will use his religious beliefs and other excuses not to. It’s simply politics.

Heres what he said when asked by Tim Russert on whether or not he would accept a possible nomination of Clarence Thomas a Chief Justice:”I think that he has been an embarrassment to the Supreme Court.”I think that his opinions are poorly written. I just don’t think that he’s done a good job as a Supreme Court justice.”On the same show, he praised Antonin Scalia.Since there is very little light of day between Scalia’s votes and Thomas’, am I wrong to conclude Harry Reid is just another closeted racist hiding in the cloak of liberalism?Can anyone who disagrees cite a”poorly worded”opinion by Thomas?
