Well according to the rumors that someone was leaving the show and at the end his character did retire I’m assumming he isn’t comming back. I’m hoping it’s all a bad dream as I just really loved Gibbs and it’s gonna be hard to see how the show is without him.

Mark Harmon’s Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs is laid up in the hospital with injuries from a terrorist attack on the Navy. He’s flashing back to memories of a wife and daughter he had never mentioned and may have information about another impending attack.Show creator Don Bellisario is promising one of the cast members will be leaving - not specifically because of death, but, hey, there are terrorists around!!!
